CONNECT WITH HARSH
Welcome to SPFM, Harsh! Since we already have your bio, describe yourself in three words.
Geeky, book-loving and smart.

Summarize your book, Yurbed’s Rise, in one sentence.
A tale about a (tall) dwarf caught in the midst of world changing events.
––
What is your favorite part, and your least favorite part of self-publishing?
I love having control over my book. I also love the fact that I do not need to wait a year or two to get a publisher to publish my book. But I hate having to format my own book.
––
When did you start writing?
I wrote my first story in 5th grade, about two years ago. Back then, I did not even think about publishing. ‘Yurbed’s Rise’ is my first published story.
––
What’s your writing ritual/routine like?
I didn’t really have a routine and took about six months to write my first book. Now, I have set a goal and have set aside time for writing every day. School work keeps me a little busy, but I’m managing.
––
If you were to write a spin-off about a side character, which would you pick and what would it be about?
I would write about Valerian Zelek, about his rise from being a peasant’s son to becoming one of the continent’s richest and most powerful men.
––
How did you know you wanted to write this genre?
I have always loved to read fantasy ever since I picked Craig Halloran’s ‘Chronicles of The Dragon’, in the lockdown. After a few months filled with tons of reading, I thought, why not write a book? And so I started.
––
Which one of your characters would win in a lightsaber fight?
That would be Begg, I guess. He is the best with the sword, though he might not match up with the likes of Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi.
––
If you could have any superhero power, what power would you have and why?
I wish I could use ‘The Force’ (Yes, I’m a big fan of Star Wars!). Because it is very versatile. You can shoot lightning with your hands, lift stuff with your mind and control others. What else can one ask for?

Tell us what lies ahead for you.
I’m a school student and part-time writer. My immediate goal is to complete my second book which is in progress. I know I have a lot to learn, writing-wise and hope I can continually work on that. Oh yes, I also aim to pass my 8th grade.
About Yurbed’s Rise

Yurbed is a strange dwarf. He is tall. He has one wish, to become an officer in the dwarven military. When he is suddenly recruited by the Black Hand of Justice, little does he know that he will soon become a key figure in the events that will shape the future of Revalia.
Ageor, the (ex)dragon-king has been a disembodied spirit for 95 years now. Will he be able to gain his body back? Will his plans for world domination succeed?
This classic sword and sorcery (or should we say axe and sorcery?) adventure contains no prophecy whatsoever but has some magic and a lot of action.
Twelve-year-old author, that is so badass! Very interested in this book, will be really fascinating to see fantasy written by younger minds. Very exciting stuff
